Policies

Revista Sextante

1. Archiving Policy

Revista Sextante ensures the long-term preservation of scholarly content through secure digital storage and archival systems. Published articles remain permanently accessible to readers, and authors are encouraged to deposit their work in institutional repositories while acknowledging the original source of publication.

2. Peer Review Policy

All submissions undergo a comprehensive double-blind peer-review process. Independent reviewers assess the originality, methodological quality, relevance, and scholarly contribution of each manuscript. Editorial decisions are based on reviewer recommendations and the journal's academic standards.

3. Print Publication Policy

Revista Sextante is primarily an online journal operating under an open-access model. Printed versions of issues or articles may be made available upon special request. Any costs related to printing and shipping are the responsibility of the requesting party.

4. Manuscript Withdrawal Policy

Authors may withdraw their submissions before a final editorial decision is reached. Requests submitted after acceptance will only be considered under exceptional circumstances, including ethical concerns or significant errors. The journal discourages unnecessary withdrawals that may disrupt the publication process.

5. Refund Policy

If publication-related charges apply, payments are generally non-refundable once editorial processing or peer review has commenced. Exceptions may be granted for duplicate transactions or verified administrative errors at the discretion of the editorial office.

6. Publication Ethics

The journal is committed to maintaining the highest standards of ethical publishing. Authors, editors, and reviewers are expected to conduct themselves with honesty, transparency, and professional responsibility throughout the submission, review, and publication process.

7. Similarity and Plagiarism Policy

All manuscripts are checked using plagiarism-detection software before entering peer review. Submissions containing copied, unattributed, or previously published material may be rejected.

  • Similarity below 10%: Normally acceptable
  • 10%–20%: Revision may be requested
  • 20%–30%: Significant corrections required
  • Above 30%: Manuscript may be rejected

Authors retain ownership of their intellectual work while granting Revista Sextante the right to publish, distribute, and archive the article. Proper attribution to the original publication must accompany any future use of the published material.

9. Open Access Policy

Revista Sextante provides unrestricted access to all published content. Readers may freely read, download, share, and cite articles for educational and research purposes, provided appropriate acknowledgment is given to the authors and the journal.

10. Conflict of Interest Policy

Any personal, financial, institutional, or professional interests that could influence the research, review, or editorial process must be disclosed. Transparency in potential conflicts helps preserve the credibility and objectivity of scholarly publishing.

11. Research Data Policy

Authors are encouraged to retain and, where appropriate, share supporting datasets related to their research. Data availability enhances transparency, reproducibility, and confidence in published findings while respecting ethical and legal requirements.

12. Retraction and Correction Policy

The journal may issue corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions when substantial errors, ethical violations, plagiarism, duplicate publication, or research misconduct are identified. Such actions are taken to protect the integrity of the scholarly record.
